چکیده

constrained noise-free CDMA channel is addressed. Multiuser cooperation is imperative if conventional demodulation is expected to be error free for non-orthogonal spreading sequences. It is found that for such a constraint the power distribution ensuring the most fruitful cooperation is that which assigns equal power to all users. As a result the asymptotic capacity and spectral efficiency are highest when all users transmit with the same amplitude. It is also shown that for such a complexity constrained channel the asymptotic spectral efficiency is a boundless monotonically increasing function of the channel load.

The impact of frequency-flat fading on the spectral efficiency of CDMA

The capacity of the randomly spread synchronous code-division multiple-access (CDMA) channel subject to frequency-flat fading is studied in the wide-band limit of large number of users. We find the spectral efficiency as a function of the number of users per chip, the distribution of the flat fading, and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), for the optimum receiver as well as linear receivers (sing...

Performance Analysis of ZF Pre-Coder and Extended Joint Channel Estimation Method in Downlink CDMA with HPA

In the down link scenario of code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, multi user detectors (MUDs) such as linear de-correlating detector (LDDs) provide satisfactory symbol error rates (SERs) at the expense of much increased complexity, they require all active users’ spreading sequences, which is impractical from privacy point of view. To overcome this impracticality, a simple matched filte...

Spectral Efficiency of CDMA with Random Spreading

The CDMA channel with randomly and independently chosen spreading sequences accurately models the situation where pseudonoise sequences span many symbol periods. Furthermore, its analysis provides a comparison baseline for CDMA channels with deterministic signature waveforms spanning one symbol period. We analyze the spectral efficiency (total capacity per chip) as a function of the number of u...

SINR-based channel pre-equalization for uplink multi-carrier CDMA systems

This paper investigates channel pre-equalization for the up-link of multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) mobile cellular systems. This technique solves the crucial problem of up-link channel estimation by keeping the high spectral efficiency of MC-CDMA with no need of pilot symbols. We study an optimisation criterion based on the maximization of the signal over interference plu...

Asymptotically optimal water-filling in vector multiple-access channels

Dynamic resource allocation is an important means to increase the sum capacity of fading multiple-access channels (MACs). In this paper, we consider vector multiaccess channels (channels where each user has multiple degrees of freedom) and study the effect of power allocation as a function of the channel state on the sum capacity (or spectral efficiency) defined as the maximum sum of rates of u...
